Cancer Cachexia
Improvement of treatment rates and quality of life in cancer patients
Cancer cachexia is a debilitating syndrome that affects approximately 50–80% of cancer patients and is characterized by progressive weight loss, reduced appetite, and severe muscle wasting.
Since cachexia originates from systemic inflammation and metabolic dysregulation, lost muscle mass is difficult to restore through nutritional support alone. To date, there are no effective therapies that can halt or reverse this process.

A drug candidate developed by MoDuDa-OpenInnovation Co., Ltd. has demonstrated improvements in muscle mass and function, reduction of intramuscular inflammation, and inhibition of muscle degradation.

The field of cancer cachexia treatment remains an area of high unmet need, with no effective therapeutic options. To address this gap, MoDuDa–OpenInnovation Co., Ltd. is focusing on promising novel candidates. Ultimately, our goal is to help cancer patients better tolerate treatment and maintain an improved quality of life.
